font size

Georgia and South Ossetia have signed a ceasefire protocol, declaring unauthorized arms should withdraw from the conflict zones within two weeks.

A joint commission of settling the conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia signed on Sunday a ceasefire protocol, declaring unauthorized arms should withdraw from the conflict zones within two weeks, reported China Radio International.

Reports say deputies from Georgia, North Ossetia and South Ossetia signed the agreement.

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said he has ordered the troops not to carry out military operations in South Ossetia. However Georgia will protect its interests within the area by all means.
