The China-Brazil ties have seen satisfactory development, Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), said Monday.

Chen made the remarks at a reception jointly held by the CPAFFC and the China-Latin America Friendship Association to mark the 30th anniversary of the China-Brazil diplomatic ties.

Chen told the reception that China and Brazil, both as developing countries, enjoy fruitful cooperation in various fields and frequent high-level exchanges.

Non-governmental exchanges between the two countries are also fruitful, Chen said, noting that Brazil set up organizations for friendship with China 50 years ago, and the CPAFFC established long-term friendly and cooperative relationship with them. A total of 26 Chinese provinces and cities have established friendly relations with Brazilian counterparts, Chen added.

Chen said with China and Brazil's joint efforts, the friendly and cooperative relations will be further consolidated and promoted.

Affonso Celso de Ouro-Preto, Brazil's ambassador to China, said at the reception that Brazil-China relations show great vitality, the fruit of the persistent efforts made by the leaders of the two countries over the past 30 years.

The ambassador spoke highly of the Brazil-China strategic partnership, noting that political, economic and trade ties between the two countries have been strengthened continuously since diplomatic ties were forged 30 years ago.

The two sides should further enhance their exchanges and cooperation, he added.
