| Southern African Development Community (SADC) 2004 summit held in Mauritius |

 Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Berenger, newly-elected chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), addresses the SADC's 2004 summit at the International Conference Center in Grand Baie, Mauritius, Aug. 16, 2004. Heads of state and government from all 13 member countries of SADC started their two-day annual summit here on Monday to discuss issues of regional integration, poverty reduction, food security, and HIV/AIDS control.
