A gang of guerrillas abducted Devendra Raj Thapa in Dailekh district of western Nepal on June 26 and killed him on Aug. 11.

The guerrillas accused Thapa, who is also an advisor to the Human Rights and Peace Society of Nepal, of spying for the government security forces against the insurgents.
