Senior CPC leader encourages youths to learn about fighting spirit in Anti-Japanese warA senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has called on Chinese young people to learn from those who fought the Japanese from 1937 to 1945, and to contribute to the country's modernization drive. Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during his inspection tour of north China's Shanxi Province from Aug. 12 to 17. He visited several cities in Shanxi Province and a few revolutionary bases in the Taihang Mountains. He said people living in the Taihang Mountains area fought bravely during the anti-Japanese war and made great contributions to the final victory. With many places of historical and revolutionary interest, Shanxi could promote tourism to educate the young, said Li. Li also inspected a few villages to see whether they can successfully receive the signal of the Children Channel of China Central Television (CCTV), encouraging CCTV to produce high-quality TV programs for the children. |
