Putin congratulates Russian athlete for Olympic gold

President Vladimir Putin has sent congratulations to Alexei Alipov, who won gold in men's trap shooting at the 28th Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Itar-Tass reports Tuesday.

"You have brought the first Olympic gold to our team. This success has become a truly joyful event for millions of citizens in our country, for all those who believed in your skills and mastery," Putin said in the telegram.
