font size

US forces launched an airstrike on the volatile Iraqi city of Fallujah on Friday, eyewitness said.

They said at least one missile was fired into an industrial area of the city, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.

This was the second airstrike on Fallujah on Friday. Earlier, US aircraft launched an overnight strike on the city, killing five people and wounding another six, they added.

Over 300,000 people live in the city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, which has been bombed by US warplanes almost daily over the past week.
