Chinese commemorate birth centenary of Deng Xiaoping

China's top leaders and representatives from all walks of life gathered here Sunday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of late leader Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of China's reform and opening-up drive.

Hu Jintao, state president and general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is expected to delivera speech at the meeting held in the Great Hall of the People.
