Hungarian wins men's hammer throw gold medal

Adrian Annus of Hungary claimed the men's hammer throw gold medal at the 28th Olympic Games Sunday evening.

Annus, who had the year's second best at 83.65 meters, had the winning throw of 83.19m for his first Olympic title.

Koji Murofushi of Japan had the silver at 82.91 and Ivan Tikhon of Belarus took the bronze at 79.81.

Following are the results of men's hammer throw at the 28th Olympic Games on August 22 evening:

1. Adrian Annus, Hungary, 83.19 meters

2. Koji Murofushi, Japan, 82.91

3. Ivan Tikhon, Belarus, 79.81

4. Esref Apak, Turkey, 79.51

5. Vadim Devyatovskiy, Belarus, 78.82

6. Krisztian Pars, Hungary, 78.73

7. Primoz Kozmus, Slovenia, 78.56

8. Libor Charfreitag, Slovakia, 77.54
