China holds an positive attitude in promoting the friendly cooperation between the armies of China

and Brazil, its defense minister Cao Gangchuan said in Beijing Monday.

In a meeting with Luiz Carlos Da Silva Bueno, commander in chief of Brazil's Air Force, Cao, also Chinese state councilor and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, said that the relations between the armies of China and Brazil have been progressing smoothly since the two countries forged full

diplomatic ties 30 years ago.

China hopes the two armies, including their air forces, will increase exchange and cooperation so as to contribute to the improvement of Sino-Brazilian strategic partnership.

Bueno said the two countries and their armies enjoy profound, traditional friendship. He wishes his visit will further promote exchanges between the two armies and create good conditions for closer cooperation.

Cao also briefed Bueno on China's national defense policy, economic development and China's stance and principle on the Taiwan issue.
