The Asian Association of Management School (AAMS) was set up in Beijing Monday, aiming at instituting Asia's own evaluation system for management education, including that for the Master of Business Administration (MBA).
The organization, the first ever of its kind in Asia, was established at the Education Forum for Asia in Beijing, which opened here Monday afternoon.
Comprising management schools, business organizations and other institutions of higher management education, the association was founded by top management schools in Asia.
Initiators said the main tasks of the AAMS included building an accreditation and ranking system for Asian management institutions, setting up a case center, publishing "Asian Management Review" and holding annual conference.
So far, Asian management schools could only join or gain qualification from North American or European associations, which required high fees and do not address the needs of Asian schools.
The Asian Association of Management School will promote the development of management education and form original management ideas and methods in Asia, insiders said.
