Russian Mikhail Ignatyev wins cycling men's points race gold

Mikhail Ignatyev of Russia won the cycling track men's points race, garnering 93 points, in beating Joan Llaneras of Spain, 82, on August 24 at the Athens Games.

Llaneras had the silver.

The bronze went to Guido Fulst of Germany, whose points of 79 sidelined Greg Henderson of New Zealand, with 68, from the medal tally.
