Bahamas' Williams-Darling wins women's 400m athletics gold

New world number one Tonique Williams-Darling proved again herself unbeatable in Athens on August 24 as the Bahamian clocked 49.41 seconds to win the Athens Olympic gold medal in the women's 400 meters race.

The 28-year-old, who finished 5th in last year's world championships in Saint-Denis of France, went undefeated since winning world indoor bronze in Budapest last March, wrapping up four titles in this year's Golden League.

Ana Guevara from Mexico finished the second with a season best of 49.56, and Natalya Antyukh of Russia third at 49.89.
