Isinbayeva breaks world record to win women's pole vault gold (with results)

Russian Yelena Isinbayeva won the women's pole vault gold medal in a world record performance at the Athens Olympic Games in Athens on August 24 evening.

Isinbayeva cleared 4.91 meters in her first attempt to beat her own world record of 4.90 meters set up on July 30, 2004.

Her compatriot Svetlana Feofanova finished second in 4.75 meters and Anna Rogowska got the bronze in 4.70 meters.
