In Beijing, retail gasoline prices rose to a four year high on Wednesday. Pressured by the continuing rise of international petroleum prices, the national capital raised its gasoline prices for the first time in three months, in what is sure to cause a significant impact in this metropolis with more than two million automobiles.
Standard 90-octane gasoline rose to 3.42 yuan (about 41.2 US cents) a liter from 3.23 yuan (some 39.1 US cents) a liter, while 93-octane increased 0.2 yuan to 3.66 yuan a liter, according to Beijing-based newspaper Star Daily.
