FM: Singaporean leader's remark welcome
font size

China has announced that Singaporean leader Lee Hsien Loong's remark on the "One China" policy is not only in line with Singapore's interests, but also that of the international community, as it is a policy conducive to regional peace and stability.

In a recent speech to mark his country's National Day, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that he will stick to the "One China" policy and strongly oppose Taiwan independence.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan welcomed the speech. He says that China is strongly against the leaders of countries who have diplomatic ties with China visiting Taiwan in any shape or form, since this might send out the wrong signal to Taiwanese separatists.
