font size

After 14 months of renovation, Beijing's Capital International Airport (BCIA) will reopen on September 20 after being closed for five years.

The new terminal will be jointly operated by BCIA and China Southern Airlines (CSA) according to their cooperative agreement signed last year.

From September 20 and on, all domestic flights of China Northern Airlines, Xinjiang Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and CSA willmove to the new terminal. Sichuan Airlines will also gradually move its flights to the new terminal.

The total construction area of the four-story Terminal One is 78,841 square meters.

The first floor is for arrivals, the second for departure, and the third used for shops and restaurants.

China Southern now operates 37 air routes to Beijing. By 2008, China Southern will have over 8 million passengers arriving at or departing from BCIA, predicted Li Kun, vice general manager of China Southern.
