Russian Lebedeva wins women's long jump gold (with results)

Russia made a clean sweep in the women's long jump when Tatyana Lebedeva won the gold in 7.07 meters at the Athens Olympic Games in Athens on August 27.

Irina Simagina took the silver in 7.05 meters.

Tatyana Kotova, who also made the distance of 7.05, had to settle for the bronze medal as she recorded her second best distance of 6.84 meters against 7.02 for Simagina.

Results of women's long jump final

Following are the results of the women's long jump final at the Athens Olympic Games here on Friday:

1. Tatyana Lebedeva, Russia, 7.07 meters

2. Irina Simagina, Russia, 7.05

3. Tatyana Kotova, Russia, 7.05

4. Bronwyn Thompson, Australia, 6.96

5. Marion Jones, United States, 6.85

6. Anju Bobby George, India, 6.83

7. Jade Johnson, Britain, 6.80

8. Tunde Vaszi, Hungary, 6.73
