Japan will allocate funds of more than 200 million US dollars to build a facility in China which will dispose of chemical weapons left behind by its retreating soldiers at the end of WW-II.
The Ji ji Press reports that part of the facility will be used to store the chemical weapons, while the other part will be used for their disposal.
Japan is expected to finish the construction of these two parts by the end of 2006 and 2007 respectively. China Radio International reported Saturday.
It is estimated that over 700,000 such weapons remain buried in northeast China's Jilin Province.
