American Timothy Mack wins men's pole vault Olympic gold

American Timothy Mack won the men's pole vault gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games in Athens on August 27.

Mack cleared 5.95 meters to take the title, beating fellow American Toby Stevenson to second.

Italian Giuseppe Gibilisco finished third.
