Uzbek Taymazov wins men's 120kg freestyle wrestling gold

Uzbekistan's Artur Taymazov overwhelmed Alireza Rezaei of Iran in the men's 120kg freestyle wrestling final to win the gold at the Athens Olympics on Saturday.

After building a two-point lead in the first three-minute period, Taymazov, Sydney Olympic silver medalist, successfully tackled down his Iranian opponent on mat with one and a half minutes to go, sealing the victory by fall.

"I do not feel anything right now. It is a pleasure to be an Olympic winner. I dedicate this victory to my mother," said Taymazov after the final.

Turkey's Aydin Polatci defeated Marid Mutalimov of Kazakhstan 3-1 in the bronze-medal bout.
