    Motorcycles made in Chongqing exported to 130 countries

    The photo taken on Aug 29 shows a worker of a motorcycle company in Chongqing busy working at the product line. Motorcycles made in Chongqing have been exported to 130 countries and regions in the world. From January to July 2004, the motorcycle companies in Chongqing has achieved total export amount of US$369.36 million. The market share in Asian and South American is consolidated. Some of their products have entered markets in European and American countries.

    New Shenyang-Dalian expressway opens to traffic

    The new Shenyang-Dalian expressway opens to traffic on Aug 29. Linking Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning province, and Dalian, a coastal city on the tip of the Liaodong peninsular, the expanded expressway runs for 348 km from Jinbaotai of Shenyang city to Houyan of Dalian. And the expansion project was completed in 27 months at a cost of 7.2 billion yuan.

    China launches science satellite

    A recoverable science experimental satellite is launched atop a Long March 2C carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province, northwest China Aug. 29, 2004. The satellite was launched at 3:50 p.m. into a preset orbit on Sunday and it is orbiting normally.
