font size

A senior Chinese leader on Sunday visited the Pohang Steel Corporation (POSCO) in Pohang in southern Republic of Korea (ROK).

During the visit, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), inquired about POSCO's products, distribution of plants, supply of raw materials and cooperation with other countries.

POSCO Chairman and CEO Lee Ku-taek, who accompanied Jia during his tour of the complex, briefed Jia on POSCO's general situation, management experience and cooperation with other countries, including China.

POSCO, ROK's leading iron and steel producer with a world renown, turned out 28.9 million tons of steel in 2003.

On Saturday, Jia visited Samsung Electronics in Suwon, some 40 kilometers south of Seoul.

Samsung Electronics is a leading digital-E company in ROK.
