Iraqi deputy PM visits Tehran

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salehis is in the Iranian capital of Tehran to patch up relations between the two neighbors.

Saleh said upon his arrival on Saturday that he is carrying a message of friendship from the Iraqi government and nation for the Iranian government and people.

It was reported that Saleh's visit is aimed at making preparations for Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's upcoming visit to Iran.

Iran's Foreign Ministry said that Saleh would confer with Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi during his visit, mainly on the issue of abducted Iranians in Iraq.
