Rwandan, Chinese ruling parties to strengthen cooperation

The ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) have vowed to strengthen the existing cooperation between the two parties, Secretary General of RPF Francois Ngarambe said Monday in Kigali.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that the CPC delegation was in the country for a goodwill visit in which the two party representatives exchanged views and promised one another to cooperate for the benefit of the two states.

"The visit was at a political party level, but there is no doubt that it's one way in which the two respective countries can enjoy bilateral cooperation," the RPF secretary general said.

The CPC head of delegation Sun Gan in his speech that was broadcast over the national radio said that they find Rwanda as an organized state in which they can learn a lot.

"Being that Rwanda has registered tremendous achievements, it shows that it's all about good leadership and we feel we can exchange all the ideas that aims at building our countries," Sun Gan said via his interpreter.

Upon arriving in the central African country on Aug. 29, the Chinese delegation also met Rwandan Foreign Minister Charles Muligande.

The CPC delegation first visited the Republic of the Congo at the invitation of the Congolese Party of Labor.
