This year is the 240th anniversary of Cao Xueqin 's death. Cao Xueqin is best known as the writer of"Dream of the Red Chamber".
In memory of the novelist, the National Museum will showcase a painting inspired by and also entitled "Dream of the Red Chamber."
It is the first time in 45 years that the painting has been in the spotlight.
More than 3000 characters and stories from the famous novel have been depicted in the artwork. Chinese calligrapher Zhou ruchang will write a poem to go with each picture.
The exhibition will run through September.
