Kenyan Vice President Moody Awori said Wednesday in Nairobi that his government will foster stronger ties with China.
Kenya's economy is based very much on agriculture and as a result cooperative movement is extremely important in the country, Awori said when meeting a delegation from All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.
"Obviously one of the things that we need is the market for our products. We are happy of the interests China is taking in our country as far as the trade is concerned," he said, adding that the two countries should enhance bilateral cooperation and collaboration.
Meanwhile, Bai Lichen, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the delegation, said that "since we arrived here, we were introduced a lot of information about the cooperative movement which is very impressive and very worth of learning."
The vice chairman said that the Sino-Kenyan friendship dates back a long time ago, and there is a great potential for both sides in the cooperative movement.
The Chinese delegation is to stay in Kenya for four days.
