Putin congratulates Itar-Tass on centenary jubilee

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Itar-Tass personnel on the centenary jubilee of the news agency. "I congratulate you on the jubilee of Russia��s first news agency," runs the congratulatory telegram of the head of state, received by Itar-Tass.

"You have behind you �C a 100-year history, packed with bright and memorable events. Your agency has always had on its payroll talented people and real professionals, loyal to their cause and civil duty. Several generations of Itar-Tass staff members have accumulated huge and largely unique experience, rich archives, photo and video materials, which have become a live illustration of the country's history."

"Itar-Tass now is among leaders of world information space and a reliable source of latest and diverse information on events in Russia and abroad. It is important that you have not stopped at what you have achieved. You introduce new technologies, offer advanced information services and participate in important international projects," Putin emphasized.

The Russian leader wished the Itar-Tass personnel further successes and all the best.
