Three people were killed and four others wounded in a Hong Kong traffic accident early Thursday morning.

A bus and a car collided in Taipo district, New Territory, at about 1:30 a.m. local time, said the police.

The dead include the car driver and two of his passengers. The bus driver and three bus passengers were injured. The police said the bus was not then in service and only had staff on board.

The injured were sent to hospital.
