Israeli military action against targets in syria possible: minister
font size

"I believe that it is possible to carry out these attacks by correct selection of targets, in the correct 'dosage', placing the red lines that must be placed, and without thinking in terms of massive conflagration, which is certainly not in our interest," Boim told Israel Radio.

Israel should state and stick to the rule that anyone who deals in terror against Israel is a target, Boim said.

Israel blamed Syria for supporting terrorism after twin bus bombings occurred in its southern city of Beersheva, killing 16 and wounding around 100.

Sources from the government said that a senior Hamas official, who is now living in Damascus and wanted by the United States, is the one behind the bombings.

"There is no immunity, and if there is a need, we will act," Boim said.

Less than a year ago, the Israeli Air Force attacked targets in Syria in response to a deadly bombing at a popular seaside restaurant in Haifa.
