Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju met in Beijing on September 4 with Pakistani delegates, who came to attend the Third International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP).

The Sino-Pakistani friendly relations have developed in an all-round way since the two countries forged diplomatic ties in 1951, said Huang, who is also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

China and Pakistan have enhanced their cooperation by supporting and trusting each other, Huang said when meeting with Mushahid Hussain Sayed, secretary-general of the Pakistan Muslim League, Raja Mohammed Zafarul Haq, executive president of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Mohammad Enver Baig of the Pakistan People's Party.

The Sino-Pakistani relationship, based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, served as a model of state-to-state relations between countries with different social systems, he said.

Parties in the two countries have played an important role in promoting the Sino-Pakistani relations, the vice premier said, adding that he hoped the parties could further their exchanges and cooperation in the future.

The Pakistani delegates said the ICAPP reflected the Asian countries' trust in and respect for China, which has long pursued the good-neighborly policy.

The Pakistani people, government and parties cherished the traditional friendship with China, and they were very proud of the achievements China has made in various fields, they said.

They added that they would spare no efforts to further develop the Pakistan-China friendly cooperation.

More than 80 political parties or organizations from 34 Asian countries attended the three-day ICAPP, which opened Friday morning in Beijing.

Chinese vice premier meets Lao guest

China is ready to make joint efforts with Laos to lift bilateral relations to a new level, said Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju in Beijing on September 4.

Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark in a meeting with Somsawat Lengsavad, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Commission.

Citing the deeply-rooted bilateral traditional friendship, Huang said the neighborly friendship between China and Laos have moved ahead smoothly in line with long-term stability, neighborly friendship, mutual trust and all-round cooperation.

The two countries have conducted progressive cooperation in various fields and the government and party leaders of the two countries have maintained contacts, said Huang, adding that the CPC and the Chinese government will as always value and deepen friendship between the two countries so as to lift bilateral relations to a new level.

Samsawat agreed with Huang and recalled high-level visits between the two countries, including former Chinese President Jiang Zemin's visit to Laos and Lao President Khamtay Siphandone's visit to China.

Samsawat, who is here to attend the Third International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) hosted by the CPC, spoke highly of Chinese President and General Secretary of the CPCCentral Committee Hu Jintao's remarks on the conference.

The two countries will certainly become good neighbors, partners and comrades, said Samsawat, adding that the Lao People's Revolutionary Party welcomed more Chinese cadres to visit Laos.
