Sino-Japanese economic expertise sharing conference holds annual meeting

The annual meeting of Sino-Japanese economic expertise sharing conference, the 24th of the kind, opened in Lanzhou, capital city of northwest China's Gansu province, on September 4.

Participants are mostly incumbent or former officials of government departments of both countries, such as the Development Research Center of China's State Council, or the central Chinese government, and the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

During the meeting, the participants will confer on such issues as contemporary economic situation and its impact, economic reform in Japan and China, economic, technological and business cooperation between the two countries, relevant policy adjustments, China's on-going drive to explore and develop the vast western region, and energy strategy and cooperative policy analysis and predictions.

The expertise sharing conference was launched in June 1981 on a proposal of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping, with the venue for its annual session rotating between the two countries.

Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi sent a congratulatory message to the meeting.

The annual meeting will conclude on next Thursday.
