Hong Kong financial secretary Henry Tang will leave Hong Kong for Xiamen Tuesday to attend the Eighth China International Fair for Investment and Trade, according to Monday's government press release.

The Financial Secretary will attend the opening ceremony of thefair and visit the Hong Kong pavilion of the investment and trade fair on Sept. 8. During his stay in Xiamen, Tang will also call onleaders of the Fujian provincial government.

The financial secretary will conclude his visit and return to Hong Kong on Sept. 9. During Tang's absence from Hong Kong, Stephen Ip, secretary for Economic Development and Labor, will take up the duties of the Financial Secretary as well as his own duties.
