Iraq will not allow any organizations or factions to collapse its government, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said Monday.
Speaking at a joint press conference after talks with his Jordanian counterpart Marwan Muasher, Zebrai said the situation inIraq has been developing better and the Iraqi government has the capability to manage the country.
He stressed, "We will not stop military operations against the groups of insurgents who threaten Iraqi lives everyday. The operations will go on in order to protect the safety and the security of our citizens."
The Iraqi government strongly condemned kidnapping of foreign hostages, which will fully destroy the country's reputation, Zebari said.
Zebari said during their 90-minute meeting he and Muasher discussed the situation of French journalists who were abducted inIraq 18 days ago and the situation in Iraq.
The two countries decided to establish a joint Iraqi-Jordanian Higher Committee next month to enhance cooperation on transportation, port trade and investment.
The Iraqi minister also suggested a broader meeting that may include regional organizations besides Iraq's neighbors.
Zebari arrived here on Monday for a two-day visit and will travel to Sudan, Yemen and Egypt later.
