Russia accuses west of harboring terrorists
font size

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said any country that harbours terrorists damage the world's anti-terrorist alliance. He also accused western countries of internationalizing the Chechen issue.

Lavrov says despite the messages of condolence sent by Britain and the United States regarding the recent hostage tragedy, they are still providing asylum for Chechen separatists. This is a sign of the 'double standards' existing in the fight against terrorism, according to China Radio International.

Earlier he told Radio Russia that Russian foreign policy didn't change after the hostage-taking crisis in Beslan and Russia will continue to develop partnerships with other countries.

He accused western countries of internationalizing the Chechen issue which he reiterates is Russia's domestic affair.

Russia has issued a statement that it will extradite suspects and hope western countries stop harbouring Chechen separatists.
