Vogue to launch China edition
font size

Vogue magazine, the venerable 112-year-old fashion bible, will launch a Chinese edition by next September, keeping pace with an expanding base of wealthy Chinese with an insatiable demand for Armani, Prada and Bulgari.

The new edition will be based in Shanghai and be launched in cooperation with Chinese publisher China Pictorial, Conde Nast. It also plans to hire an editor from the region, reported China Radio International Friday.

Vogue currently publishes editions in various international markets including the UK, Russia, Germany and Japan.

But its entry into China lags competitors, which have published women's fashion titles in the region for nearly a decade.
