The Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) hosted a reception Friday morning in honor of the visiting Olympic medalists from the Chinese mainland.
The 63-strong delegation including 46 gold medalists of the just closed Athens Olympic Games attended the reception, which was jointly held by the Liaison Office, the Commission of the Foreign Ministry in Macao and the Chinese People's Liberation Army Garrison in Macao.
Xu Ze, deputy director of the Liaison Office, said that the delegation's Macao visit boosted morale of the staff in the Liaison Office in further devoting to the practices of "one country, two systems" principle in Macao.
Yu Zaiqing, deputy director of the delegation and vice president of the Chinese Olympic Committee, said that the delegation's visit is conducive to enhancing a cohesion of patriotic forces in Macao. The sports society is willing to make its due contribution to the nation's unity.
Ma Man Kei, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Wan Yongxiang, commissioner of the Foreign Ministry in Macao; the garrison's Commander Liu Lianhua and Political Commissar Yang Zhongmin attended the reception.
