China int'l fair for investment, trade ends

The Eighth China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) ended Saturday in Xiamen in east China's Fujian Province.

Almost 1,500 investment contracts were signed during the annual fair sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce, totaling 14.9 billion US dollars.

The fair attracted more than 110,000 people from 118 countries and regions, including representatives from international organizations, foreign governmental institutions and multinational companies.

Fair organizers said that with increased participation by overseas businesses, the investment and trade fair is becoming more popular in the international commerce community.
