Ringleader of the grouping of terrorists that organized the notorious attack at a general school in Russian North Caucasian town of Beslan earlier this month has been identified among the killed bandits, Russia's Deputy Prosecutor General Vladimir Kolesnikov said Saturday.
He refuted mass media reports that the terrorists' ringleader, "the colonel" by nickname had managed to escape and was still alive.
Kolesnikov said the militant Nur-Pashi Kulayev, who had been seized during the release of hostages, had identified the ringleader's body, now kept under No. 12 at a forensic refrigerator service.
The investigators have established the man's name but have not yet completed all the procedural formalities, Kolesnikov said.
A total of 90 bodies have not been identified so far, he indicated, adding that the number included 22 boys, 31 girls, 34 women, and three men.
Kolesnikov also asked the families of the people still listed as missing to file official applications with the interior agencies about their relatives and to take DNA blood tests for identification purposes.
