An Iraqi militant group loyal to al Qaida beheaded a kidnapped Turkish driver and showed the execution video on its website Monday.
The militants were seen under a black banner of Tawhid and Jihad, and the Turkish driver identified himself as Durmus Kumdereli on the video.
Kumdereli spoke in Turkish with Arabic subtitles accompanied.
"My name is Durmus Kumdereli. I am from Tarsus (in southern Turkey). I am a truck driver. I brought machine parts and construction materials from Turkey for an American base near Tikrit," he said, advising other drivers not to work for the Americans.
The video then showed the gruesome cutting throat of the victim.
Dated Aug. 17, the video's authenticity could not be verified.
Kumdereli was abducted on Aug. 14 outside Mosul. He was taken hostage with another Turkish driver, Mustafa Koksal, but four days later, the Turkish government said Koksal had been rescued.
Dozens of foreign workers in Iraq have been kidnapped since April. Many have been released but some 20 have been killed. Several Turkish firms were forced to withdraw from Iraq recently.
