International database giant Oracle officially declared on September 13 that the TS20000 DB, an InfiniBand based high-performance server developed by China's Langchao Group, proved to be up to the OCE standard. It is China's and also the world's first high-performance server to win this internationally authoritative certification. This marks that China's servers industry has gained a solid foothold.
In the recent years, home made servers industry has been growing and gaining more market share which used to be dominated by foreign producers. But the hi-end market which is crucially important is still small for them. Only models on which an array of important software run well can get into the market.
Experts believe that the success of Langchao's TS20000 DB in the OCE test means that servers made in China are able to provide not only a stable, safe and reliable hardware platform for users, but also a solution including large-scaled applications.
OCE gives Langchao, a leading Chinese IT service provider, the access to the world market. And the company is ambitious about its market expansion strategy.
