China opens telecom market wider

Chinese Minister of Information Industry Wang Xudong says China is actively opening its telecom market to the rest of the world.

Addressing a Pacific Telecommunications Council conference, Wang Xudong noted China, as a council member, will explore the cooperation potential to enhance bilateral or multilateral cooperation in the field of technology and business supervision.

The minister also says China will accelerate development in software, integrated circuits, digital TV, and internet security.

The Pacific Telecommunications Council is an international, non-profit, and non-governmental organization for providers and users of communication services, policy-makers and technology specialists.
