Chinese entrepreneurs are welcome to invest in Albania, said Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano in Beijing on September 15.

At the China-Albania Business Seminar, Nano said Albania has a stable economy and political situation both of which are important

for attracting foreign investment.

He said the aim of his and the business delegation's visit to China is to show their willingness to cooperate with Chinese companies.

This is the first Albanian business delegation to visit China.

According to statistics of the General Administration of Customs, bilateral trade volume of 2003 was 32.23 million US dollars. While bilateral trade volume of the first half year of

2004 was 28.86 million dollars, a 118.3 percent increase year-on-year.

Nano arrived here Monday on an official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. This was the first meeting between the heads of the two governments in 38 years; the

two countries established full diplomatic relations in November 1949.

Albanian PM leaves Beijing for Xi'an

Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano left Beijing Wednesday for Xi'an, the capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to continue his tour of China.

Nano arrived Monday for a week-long official visit as Premier Wen Jiabao's guest. He held talks with Wen Monday and met with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Tuesday.

Also in Beijing, China and Albania issued a joint communique to advance bilateral relations, and signed seven cooperative documents to cement mutual cooperation in areas such as economy, education, sports, broadcasting and television.

This is Nano's first visit to China as prime minister. Besides Beijing and Xi'an, he is also scheduled to visit Shanghai, China's financial and commercial hub, before winding up his China tour Sunday.
