font size

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan presided over the opening ceremony of the new term at the Chinese Foreign Affairs University (FAU) in Beijing on September 15 afternoon.

The ceremony was also held for the celebration of the country's 20th Teacher's Day.

Tang spoke highly of the role that the FAU has played in training diplomats. He said he hoped that the FAU would continue to train qualified diplomats and become an outstanding university known for its teachers and researchers.

More than one thousand students and teachers participated in the ceremony.

The FAU, established in 1955, is the only university in China specializing in foreign affairs, foreign trade and international law. More than 200 ambassadors and consul generals graduated from the FAU since it was founded.
