Mainland condemns Taiwan irrational tourism policy
font size

China's central government has criticized the Taiwan authorities' irrational policy of stopping tourists from the Chinese mainland from entering Taiwan Province.

At a press conference in Beijing Wednesday, a spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office said the Taiwan authorities only allow mainland people who are working, studying or living abroad to enter the province.

This results in the weakening of the mainland administration contacts with these people and facilitates conspiracy by illegal immigration groups.

The spokesman says the Taiwan authorities are responsible for a series of recent incidents in which tourists from the mainland have gone missing in the island province.
