font size

China's new ambassador to Japan, Wang Yi, presented his credentials to Japanese Emperor Akihito in Tokyo Thursday.

Wang Yi says he would like to make joint efforts with Japanese officials to seek ways to resolve existing problems between the two countries and improve cooperation under the guidance of the Joint Sino-Japanese Statement, China Radio International reported Friday.

The Chinese ambassador also says he will devote himself to the long-term stability and development of the relationship between China and Japan.

Wang Yi arrived in Tokyo last Friday to assume office.
