First list of GAP-compliance herbalists released

The National Food and Drug Administration issued the first list of herbs companies and their herbs varieties which are up to the standard of GAP, a criteria ensuring the quality of traditional Chinese herbs production. 8 companies are on the list.

GAP includes strict control and standardized management of the key techniques involving seeds, environment, pesticide and plantation, etc. in the process of growing herbs. It is designed to improve the quality of herbs. Producers of traditional Chinese herbs can apply for GAP certification to the National Food and Drug Administration.
