Shanghai to carry out all-round cooperation with HamburgShanghai, China's economic and financial hub, will carry out all-round cooperation with Germany's Hamburg, covering traditional Chinese medicine, tourism, education,art, music, sports and urban construction. Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng and Hamburg Mayor Ole Von Beust signeda package of agreements on such cooperation here on Wednesday. According to the agreements, Hamburg will build a research institute on Chinese herb and traditional medicine, as well as a herb plantation with the help of Shanghai. The two cities will also enhance cooperation in public health and prevention and treatment of contagious diseases. According to the pacts, China and Germany will jointly establish a surgery training center, carry out exchange and training programs on disaster relief, elder nursing and psychotherapy. On tourism, Shanghai will build a Chinese-style teahouse in the downtown of Hamburg as the European headquarters of Shanghai-based tourist agencies. The two cities will strive to realize direct flights at an early date as well. The other cooperation fields involve youth training, linguisticteachers exchange and other facets in art exhibition, rock-and-roll concert, chess and soccer games.
