Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA) began cooperating with international organizations this year in order to further its goal of building a intellectual property right (IPR) protection system.
SIPA Director Chen Zhixing said in Shanghai Thursday that his company has shared information with European Patent Office, German Patent and Market Administration, National Institute of Industrial Property of France and some IPR organizations in Switzerland and the United States.
Chen said 20 officials with the SIPA are scheduled to travel toAntwerp in Belgium this October for a 21-day training course in IPR protection.
Chen added the SIPA has launched a united training program withAmerican International Education Foundation, which will provide Shanghai with a number of IPR teachers, judges and government officials.
He said the SIPA had sent its officials to study in Germany last year and is now planning to co-found a IPR specialist training base in Shanghai.
