Freeway collision leaves four people dead, three others injured

Four people were killed and three others were injured in a freeway collision happening near Dingyuan County, southeast China's Anhui Province, local sources said.

The accident took placed on a section of the freeway connecting Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, and Bengbu, a medium-sized city in the same province, around 6:30 a.m on Friday when a van driver surnamed Chen who headed for the county seat of Dingyuan bumped into a crane vehicle, killing two people on the spot and injuring five others seriously.

Two more people died later in the local hospital, according the local sources.

Low visibility caused by the foggy weather early Friday was one of the key factors to be blamed, said witnesses.

Cause of the accident is under further investigation.
